In an increasingly digital world, cyber security is fast becoming a main concern for most organisations. With complex online scams and cybercrime, it is essential that organisations understand preventative measures to maintain cyber security, including techniques and security checks needed to store data securely. This Level 3 Certificate in Cyber Security Practices qualification is designed to provide learners with knowledge
and skills relating to cyber security practices. It will provide the learner with a chance to develop knowledge and learn practical skills which can be used to seek employment or proceed into study at a higher level.

This course is made up of 6 units:

Understand cyber security principles
Threat intelligence in cyber security
Cyber security testing, vulnerabilities and controls
Cyber security incident response
Understand legislation and ethical conduct within cyber security
Professional skills and behaviours for cyber security

There is no specific knowledge required for this qualification. However, it is recommended learners have a good general understanding of IT, English, and maths. Learners would need to have completed the Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of Cyber Security before completing this course.

This is a knowledge only qualification. There are no exams, observations, or assessment of work-based learning. There is no work placement or industry experience required. Although learners may find this helpful.
Learners will produce an online portfolio of evidence. This will be internally assessed and quality assured. All elements will need to be completed to achieve the qualification.

There are no classes to attend. You can study this course from the comfort of your home at a time that suits you. However, it is essential you aim to meet all submission deadlines. You will receive email support from an assigned assessor. They will give you feedback on your work and help you to improve as required.

This is an online course. You will need access to the internet and a computer or tablet. We may be able to support learners with access to equipment subject to meeting certain criteria.
You will be given access to a website with materials to develop your understanding of the concepts. You may need to conduct some research and access industry related websites to support this. You will need to type your answers into the learning platform using your own words. You cannot copy and paste your answers. This is to prevent plagiarism.
