Course Description
Join us in our professional art studio at Rochester to explore animation techniques with Multiply.

You will learn the fundamentals of comic animation, including panel layouts, character design, and basic storytelling principles. Through hands-on exercises, you will practice creating dynamic panel arrangements, expressive character designs and thumbnails sketching culminating in the creation of a short comic strip introducing a character.

All materials will be supplied free of charge.

If you are aged 19 and over and do not have Maths at level 2 or equivalent, you can access free numeracy courses through Multiply to build your confidence with numbers and learn a new skill in our professional studios.

Learners will:

Spatial Reasoning and Geometry
1. Develop spatial reasoning skills through the creation of at least 1 animated scene.
2. Manipulate geometric shapes in at least one of your animations.
3. Apply appropriate proportions to at least 1 animated scene.

You will also learn to craft narratives and translate them into visual sequences through scriptwriting exercises, thumbnail sketching and preparing your own comic scenes

If you do have a holiday booked during term time, please let the tutor know in advance so that we can help you catch up on missed sessions and ensure that you still achieve the course outcomes.
