Basic tools and materials will be provided but please bring your own gloves, apron, range of textured items for experimentation (such as leaves, feathers, fabrics etc.) as well as any paper you would like to experiment with (such as newspaper, brown and graph papers). We encourage learners to bring their own acrylic paints or printing inks in their favourite colours, as these may not be available.
Additionally, it would be helpful if they could bring soft tip tools, such as cotton buds, and items with interesting textures that are not sharp or pointy, as these could potentially damage the Gelli plate. Examples of suitable items include feathers, leaves, lace, doilies, stencils, and other textural objects.
We recommend that participants bring A4 photocopier paper to use for printing, as they will have the opportunity to create many prints during the session. If desired, they may also bring higher quality paper for their final prints.
It is advisable to bring an apron and gloves to wear for protection during the activity as these will not be provided.
Please note that any textured items you use will get paint on them.
