This short course give learners a taste of the GCSE English course, and is aimed at supporting progression onto a GCSE programme.

• This course is only for learners aged 19+
• Before you begin, you must complete an initial assessment with our information, advice and guidance team.

Open Is there anything else I need to know about the course?

You must be aged 19+ to enrol on this course. Before you begin your studies, an initial English & maths assessment will be required to place you on the most suitable course. In order to help you be successful with your studies, it is expected that you attend classes on a regular basis (at least 90% of the time).You will also be expected to make enough time to complete your homework and practise your English skills between sessions.

Open Will there be additional costs?

These courses are free* of charge and there are no additional costs providing that you do not already hold a level 2 English qualification at grade C or above.

This course is designed to provide an opportunity for progression onto a GCSE English coursse.

Open What is the attendance policy?

In order to get the most out of your course you will need to attend as many sessions as possible. We recommend at least 90%. If you do have a holiday booked during term time please let the tutor know in advance so that we can help you catch up on missed sessions and ensure that you still achieve the course outcomes. If you are unavoidably ill or unable to attend please contact 01634 338400 so that we can let your tutor know, and so they can send you any work you may have missed.
