Zoom Etiquette
You will be sent an email link with the unique meeting ID for the class.
You will need this ID to join the ZOOM hosted class.
Await the invite and then join the class
We are so pleased you are joining us – but in order for all of us to have an enjoyable experience it is necessary for you to ensure that your microphone is on MUTE throughout the class, which is easily located in the bottom left hand corner of your screen.
The exception to this is at the beginning and end of the class we will all say hello with microphone on UNMUTE, so that there is a feeling of being together in the class, so we will UNMUTE on arrival and then MUTE during the class - otherwise we run the risk of hearing people’s dogs barking, telephones ringing, sound feedback etc.
If you have a question or wish to share something with the teacher, please UNMUTE and ask.
At the end of the class you will again be invited to UNMUTE – so we can say goodbye.
To join the class
Open the zoom application and select 'join a meeting'. When prompted enter the meeting ID that the tutor has sent you via email.
Please join the meeting 5-10 minutes before the class start time.
The meetings are set-up to start with participants microphones muted.
Note the quality of the picture and sound will be much better from a laptop, tablet or PC– a mobile phone may be very small and the sound quality much less.
To pin the teachers video feed to be the one in view, hover over the picture of the teacher, 3 dots will appear at the top right of the picture, click these, in the drop down menu that appears, choose 'PIN video'.
