Prosp Description
Learners will:

• Observe appropriate health & safety requirements

• Demonstrate an understanding of cutting fabric with a pattern
• Experiment with different machine functions e.g twin needle sewing, decorative stitching, zipper feet.

• Create at least one item using these more advanced functions

We will be building on existing skills, learning some new techniques along the way for faster, more professional project completion.

• Pins
• dressmaking scissors or other sharp scissors that will cut fabrics successfully

see additional costs for fabric details

Some of your guided learning hours will be used to set the group and individual learning targets for the course. You will then have time to revisit these targets with your tutor to assess your progress.
Prosp Anything Else
Yes! You will need to purchase fabrics for your projects. DO NOT buy any fabrics until your course has started as your tutor will guide you on this purchase.

• You will need some scraps of fabric to sew onto and experiment with and a selection threads for sewing.

• It is helpful to have a larger piece of fabric to experiment with, maybe a freshly laundered sheet or duvet cover you no longer use, or some calico.

• You may also like to have some smaller pieces of nice fabric in case we make some group projects (a pack of fat quarters, or a half M of a nice cotton or poly-cotton)

• During the course you may like to purchase a pattern and fabrics but your tutor will advise on this at the time and throughout the course for other materials you may need.
