Course Description

Course Description
Due to the current and evolving situation with Covid 19, the delivery methods of this course are subject to change. There may be times when the lessons will be held remotely, via live video calls, use of our Moodle area, private social media groups etc. By signing up to the course you are agreeing to this wide range of teaching and learning approaches; the lessons will be held in classrooms where this is usually the case, when it is safe to do so, and may be switched to online as the need arises.

This course is planned to start in a classroom, and with reduced group sizes to allow for distancing.
All learners and carers will need to adhere to the Covid guidelines relevant at the time of this course, including those from the government, council and MAE, relating to the centres, classrooms and resources and materials.

Due to covid, no Yoga equipment is provided - e.g. learners are required to being their own mats.

This Hatha Yoga course is intended for both men and women of all abilities and ages. Beginners and more experienced learners are welcome. Yoga is non-competitive and you will be encouraged to find and stay within your own personal limits. If you are pregnant, on medication, or have any serious medical condition, please check with you GP/Nurse and discuss with the tutor, as classes are generally physically active.
This course is a gentle yoga class, ideal for those wishing to decrease stress and incorporate yoga, perhaps for the first time, into a holistic approach to improving over-all physical and mental wellbeing.
Prosp Description
By the end of the course you should be able to:
• Demonstrate improved flexibility, posture, strength, and balance safely with a variety of yoga postures.
• Participate in techniques that develop mindfulness and a relaxed inner awareness
• Use breath awareness and breathing techniques
*Note that each learner will be set specific targets based on the above and their individual starting point.

There are only a limited amount of yoga postures and breathing techniques, so although you may have done many of them before, especially if you are a returning learner, there is no final or correct level. You can always keep repeating these, going further and deeper into them and holding for longer as you progress and when your body feels ready.
